about me…
Welcome! My name is Hailie Tattrie. My pronouns are she/her, and I am a white settler who has grown up in Mi’kma’ki my entire life. I am so thankful to live, learn, and grow on this beautiful land, the unceded territory of the Mi’kmaw.
I am an activist, a part time instructor at SMU, a writing centre tutor, and a Ph.D. candidate in Educational Studies at Mount Saint Vincent University. My research interests include critical pedagogy, youth resiliency, community-based participatory research, land-based pedagogies, settler identity, & Indigenous & settler relations.
"How are people supposed to afford astronomical rent prices? How are they supposed to afford groceries when a living wage for them to meet those needs is over 20 dollars an hour and we're giving people a laughable, roughly, 13 dollars an hour?" - Hailie Tattrie, Interview with CBC TV.
Connection is important to me… whether that be through email or over a cup of coffee at my home office or favourite cafe.
